My name is Joey van Ingen, age 21. Born and raised in the East of the Netherlands. Before I started producing I was a drummer in a band. We played stuff from Led Zepplin, Deep Purple, The Eagles, etc.

2. When did you first show an interest in DJ’ing / producing?

I first showed interest in DJ’ing/producing when I was 15/16 years old. I bought 2 turntables and vinyls and organised parties in my garage. Lasers, blacklights, the whole nine yards. After that I started as DJ in a local club! After a while I was thinking, let’s make some music myself..:)

3. Who would you say have influenced you over the years musically?

My parents.

4. What has been your favourite event to-date and why?

Hard Bass 2011. Crypsis played my track for the first time (Darkness is Calling, ft. Crypsis). And I was standing in the Gelredome, like.. IS THIS REAL!? Fastest three minutes of my entire life!

5. What other artists would you recommend in the scene at the moment?

The entire Minus is More crew!

6. What would you say is your favourite record label at the moment?

Easy, Minus is More:)

7. What would you say has been your biggest achievement in your DJ’ing career so far?

Releasing my album, “Annihilate”!

8. What’s the strangest thing you have ever seen at an event?

Euh, somebody trying to say ‘Tatanka’, but he got stuck in his own words. And it became something like: ‘T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Tat-Tat-Tat….. TATANKAAAA’ Just hilarious! (had to be there, hehe)

9. What can we expect from you in the future?

New tracks, also collabs. And I am working on an awesome project, more info soon!

10. Do you have a message for the Infexious crew?

The radical truth is our crucial redemption. His ruling is inevitable. He will…… ANNIHILATE!

My name is Thijs Ploegmakers, born in a small village in the south of Holland in 1980, and I produce and play hardstyle under the name of Adaro and together with my buddy Ran-D we produce and perform as Gunz For Hire.

I’m a real music freak, and listen and produce all kinds of music.

What I do in my free time is sporting 3 times a week, improving my piano playing, and I like to watch movies and quality series like The Sopranos.

2. When did you first show an interest in DJ’ing / producing?

I started collecting vinyl when I was about 14 years old, and around my 17/18th year I started producing. First just for fun, and after a few years it became more seriously.

3. Who would you say have influenced you over the years musically?

So much music. I listen to all kinds of music. Everything influences me in different ways. When you purely talk about hard dance music, some people that I have to mention are Jeroen Streunding, Marc Acardipane, Technoboy and Tuneboy. These are guys who have been there for so many years and have constantly been at the top of the game with development and change in their sound.

4. What has been your favourite event to-date and why?

The favorite event I have played was Decibel Outdoor last summer. It was the first Gunz For Hire performance and we worked the months before so hard to finish all the tracks and the complete G4H-concept and performance. I heard from so many people who were at that performance, that they have never felt a better party-atmosphere before. And we felt it too on the stage, I still get goose bumps all over thinking back about it.

5. What other artists would you recommend in the scene at the moment?

I play music from almost all my colleagues, but some producers that really stand out the last months for me are Frequencerz, The R3belz and my A² label-mate E-Force.  I play all their latest releases.

6. What would you say is your favourite record label at the moment?

That’s simple, A² Records ofcourse!

7. What would you say has been your biggest achievement in your DJ’ing career so far?

With my solo career the highlights are playing in the Heineken Music Hall at Qountdown, playing b2b with my mate Ran-D at Defqon.1 and my gigs in Club Matrixx in Nijmegen. These are really dreams come true for me.

With Gunz For Hire we had so many highlights last year, it was unbelievable! Performing at Qlimax in the Gelredome is one of the biggest things there is in hardstyle, it was so cool!  And ofcourse our performances at Decibel Outdoor, Thrillogy, Reverze and not to forget the amazing A² Label night in Eclipse Rotterdam. And last Hard Bass with all my friends from A² Records we we’re closing the Gelredome with our A² Allstars live performance.

8. What’s the strangest thing you have ever seen at an event?

In the mid nineties I was at a Mysteryland Indoor party in Utrecht and I saw a guy knocking himself out constantly by running with his head against a concrete pole, a surreal thing to see.

9. What can we expect from you in the future?

I just finished a bootleg together with MC Renegade, it is called “The House of Wax”. And I am now working on a remix for Technoboy his classic “Tales from a vinyl”. In the future you can expect some interesting collabs from me. Some more solo material, more remixes and of course a lot of new Gunz For Hire stuff with Ran-D.

10. Do you have a message for the Infexious crew?

It’s an honor for me that you have invited me to play it your party in Scotland. I have only heard good stories about your events, I heard the Scottish people like it hard and raw. So I can’t wait to represent the raw Dutch sound at Infexious !!

My name is Juul Koopman. I’m 21 years old and live in a small town in the east of the Netherlands.

2. When did you first show an interest in DJ’ing / producing?

At the age of 16, I started to watch the DVD’s for party’s like Qlimax, Defqon, Decibel etc. When I saw those DJs do their job and play their own tracks for such a big crowd I immediately fell in love. So, I bought my first DJ equipment and one year later I started to produce my own tracks!

3. Who would you say have influenced you over the years musically?

In the hardstyle scene it’s B-Front. All of his tracks are amazing. He manages to put such a great atmosphere into each production.

When I’m in my car or just chilling at home, I don’t really listen to hardstyle. So artists like Arctic Monkeys, The Prodigy, Feed Me, Deadmau5, Trentemoller etc. inspire me a lot, too!

4. What has been your favourite event to-date and why?

As a DJ it would be WiSH Outdoor 2011. It was my 3rd time playing at a party and it was at the huge main stage. At the end of my set I was performing for thousands of people! It was an amazing day!

As visitor I have to say X-Qlusive – Holland in 2009. I’ve been to a lot of party’s but the atmosphere at this particular one was unbelievable. Almost everybody was dressed up and the music was also fantastic!

5. What other artists would you recommend in the scene at the moment?

Adaro is really doing an amazing job. His style is really unique and that’s something very important. Juized is also on fire, his new solo tracks are amazing and so refreshing. I’ve just finished a remix together with him for The Machine and we are even working on another very special track… But I can’t tell anything more about that yet!

6. What would you say is your favourite record label at the moment?

The Magic Show of course haha . Besides TMS, A² Records has had an amazing 12 months. Lots of cool tracks and of course the album ‘Unleashed’!

7. What would you say has been your biggest achievement in your DJ’ing career so far?

Recently the big news came out that I will be playing at Loudness in April. Last 3 editions I went there as a visitor and now I actually will play there. Can’t wait!

Another a big achievement was when B-Front played my track ‘Dark Age’ at the Decibel main stage last year. Over 20,000 people (including me) listening to my track at the same time. I will never forget that moment!

8. What’s the strangest thing you have ever seen at an event?

I think that will be the moment I saw a dude fighting an inflatable dolphin for 15 minutes at the Decibel afterparty. He lay on the floor and everybody was looking at him. It was pretty funny actually!

9. What can we expect from you in the future?

At the moment I’m busy with 2 new solo tracks and 1 collaboration. As I mentioned earlier, there is also the remix with Juized for The Machine and there will be another big collab within the next few weeks. So, you can expect a lot of new tracks for sure!
