| 1. In no more than 100 words tell us a bit about yourself.
Real name Alan Robertson, DJ name Rob Da Rhythm. My musical interests cover many different styles, although when playing out I mostly play gabber and hardstyle. I have been dj’ing for many years and have co-promoted with Al Twisted events such as, Infexious, Twisted & Brainfire, Darkside and Reactor. We have also started 4 new labels, Infexious Hardstyle, Infexious Harddance, Darkside Unleashed and Darkside Underground which will be available for download, plus the occasional vinyl release very soon. 2. When did you first show an interest in DJ’ing / producing? I got my first set of turntables in primary 7, so I would have been around 11 at the time. 3. Who would you say have influenced you over the years musically? Back in the day I would say djs such as Scott Brown, Marc Smith, Bass Generator were responsible for getting me hooked on hardcore with the bouncy techno sound they were playing at the time. Rob Gee, Omar Santana, Neophyte and likes I would say introduced me to the harder Dutch sound, and Scott Project, and well any artist on the Tracid Traxx label really between 2000 and 2002 for opening my mind to hardstyle! 4. What has been your favourite event to-date and why? There really is so many to choose from, if I had to say one I would probably say Nightmare In Rotterdam 2005. The atmosphere at this event was great which is something I often find lacks at some of the bigger Dutch events. The stage show and décor was out of this world. 5. What other artists would you recommend in the scene at the moment? 5. What other artists would you recommend in the scene at the moment? Hardstyle wise I would have to say Activator, I feel he is one of the only artists out there that has stuck to his roots when creating hardstyle. Also DJ Thera is working very hard at the moment spreading a more underground sound in the hardstyle scene! 6. What would you say is your favourite record label at the moment? Acti Records 7. What would you say has been your biggest achievement in your djing career so far? I would say the events that I have ran, which I feel had a large part to play in bringing the harder styles to the UK. 8. What’s the strangest thing you have ever seen at an event? Saw a guy with his girlfriend on a leash at Sundissential, she crawled around on all fours for the whole night! 9. What can we expect from you in the future? More tracks, including some solo projects from myself. 10. Do you have a message for the Infexious crew? Thanks for the support, if it wasn’t for you guys we would be nothing! |
