Hello everyone, we are Nikos Bikakis & Antonis Chochlakis,a DJ’ing/producing duo from Greece. Most people will probably know us from our other aliases Grekoz, but since we always try to make something different, we had to come up with an new project that could support our darker side. Illegal Chemistry was born!

2. When did you first show an interest in DJ’ing / producing?

Hmmm…nice question! We have to go way back in time to answer this one! So, remember a game on Playstation called Music? That was our first sequencer! Our interest in EDM has started at the late 90′s and pretty soon became passion! The fact that Music was just a game, lead us to search for a proper sequencer and Propellerhead’s Reason 1.5 helped us to form our own style from scratch! As for DJ’ing, Nikos done the first step with performing on several Uplifting parties over here like 10 years ago. Sometime later, Antonis followed, as the hunger to express our style to the crowds has grown within him as well.

3. Who would you say have influenced you over the years musically?

In the hardstyle scene our big influences come from our favourite producers of course! Artists like Zany, Technoboy, Zatox, Showtek worked as an inspiration to our own style. We also have influences from many other music genres, as we are really varied in music taste.

4. What has been your favourite event to-date and why?

Qlimax 2006!!! We could never forget that atmosphere since it was our first time on a BIG event…

5. What other artists would you recommend in the scene at the moment?

Hmmm…B-Front, Frequencerz, Spectrum, Arboza & Solutio, Burn Soldier, Hardstyle Mafia ,Da Tweekaz, Vamper and Chris One…

Expect them to do you some serious ear damage!

6. What would you say is your favourite record label at the moment?

Our favourite label at the moment? Well, we don’t have one…we play whatever we like from whatever label it comes from!

At the time tho,Scantraxx is a bit more favoured since they release faster! hehehehe

7. What would you say has been your biggest achievement in your DJ’ing career so far?

Nothing much because the scene in Greece is not existing! We perform on many radio shows though!

8. What’s the strangest thing you have ever seen at an event?

It has to be the Jetpack man @ Qlimax 2006…when he started flying over the stage we were like “seriously, wtf?!”

It was tremendously bizarre in a cool way!

9. What can we expect from you in the future?

Expect something…different as always ! Moving to Cubase wont be easy but it’s gonna worth it!

A new collab with Dj Kayem is also planned…working on our version atm!
