1. In no more than 100 words tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m Pieter Heijnen (Dj Thera) a producer/dj/label owner from the south of Holland. My musical style is best described as harder edges dance music with the keywords passion and diversity. Some people might know me from my former project Brennan & Heart and my current name is actually an anagram of Heart (Thera) as in my opinion music must be produced from the heart. In late 2008 I started the label Theracords (and in late 2009 the sub label Therabyte) to release more diverse hardstyle and Harddance music which resulted in numerous chart hitting releases and receives dj support from all over the world.

2. When did you first show an interest in DJ’ing / producing?

This is going to sound quite cheeky, but actually from the minute I was born! As soon as I got my eye on vinyl or electronic music equipment, I was sold.

3. Who would you say have influenced you over the years musically?

Obviously the people that are close to my like my family and friends but also artists like The Prodigy, Muse, Dj Scot Project and ASYS

4. What has been your favorite event to-date and why?

Every event has something unique and awesome so it’s very hard to name just one. If I got to name just one right now it is Summer Angel in Denmark. The knowledge and passion for the hardstyle is awesome in Denmark.

5. What other artists would you recommend in the scene at the moment?

Definitely all the guys on Theracords and Therabyte at the moment, keep an eye to all the releases on these labels!

6. What would you say is your favorite record label at the moment?

Since I’m only releasing tracks that I really love, it has to be Theracords and Therabyte, but to name a few others: Compulzion, German Trance and AVIO.

7. What would you say has been your biggest achievement in your DJ’ing career so far?

The full growth of both my labels and my dj career. When I started again in 2008 I would have never thought I would be playing in Canada in 2009 and in Australia in 2010. Massive!

8. What’s the strangest thing you have ever seen at an event?

That some DJ’s looked totally bored while playing their sets. Shocking that there are DJ’s that cannot enjoy themselves up there. Maybe a different track choice or a whole different career would help?

9. What can we expect from you in the future?

More releases, more remixes, more gigs and also more Theracords parties! So to sum it all up: more everything!

10. Do you have a message for the Infexious crew?

Keep the music alive, support the artists you like and hope to see you all again soon!
