| 1. In no more than 100 words tell us a bit about yourself.
We’re Bioweapon, an Australian hardstyle group. We used to be hardcore producers as Inverse & Orbit, but we slowed down the tempo and toughened up the music and have been loving it since! 2. When did you first show an interest in DJ’ing / producing? We’ve been producing for a long time. Sam started in 2000 while he was still in school, Corey in 2003-2004. We both started working on our own music and releasing records before we even thought about DJ’ing. It was only after there was demand to see us up on the decks that we decided to start playing out. 3. Who would you say have influenced you over the years musically? We’ve both taken huge influence from trance producers like Ferry Corsten, Rank1, Above & Beyond but also from guys like Noisecontrollers, Wildstylez and The Pitcher. On the whole we listen to a lot of music and try to combine many different elements into what we do. 4. What has been your favourite event to-date and why? We had the honour of playing HardBass 2011 with Ran-D and Zany in February this year. Absolutely massive!! We have a huge amount of respect for both Ran-D and Zany and the crowd as loving everything we threw at them! We were having so much fun, we even got Ran-D on the mic at the end of the set and the whole stadium were singing along to him mc’ing! 5. What other artists would you recommend in the scene at the moment? Without a doubt, we have nothing but praise for fellow Aussies, Toneshifterz. Really fresh approach to hardstyle, energetic and everything they do smashes the dancefloor! 7. What would you say has been your biggest achievement in your DJ’ing career so far? Playing Main-stage Defqon-1 Australian was probably one of the best moments ever. Being up there in front of such a huge crowd, hardstyle fanatics and festival lovers a-like in the Aussie Sun was a huge honour and and amazing experience that we’ll never forget. 8. What’s the strangest thing you have ever seen at an event? We’ve seen people hugging fences unable to move, people wearing Optimum Prime masks and people in morph-suits, but that isn’t all that strange really. There was this one guy though, who was uhhh, lets just say he was having such a ‘good time’ that when he asked us to shake his hand, his eyes were rolling in the back of his head and he couldn’t actually extend his hand out properly! Every time he wanted to shake Sam’s hand, he’d spazz out, stumble backwards and curl up into a ball – awkward… 9. What can we expect from you in the future? We’ve been working on an album for who knows how long. Whenever we get close to completion, we don’t like what we’ve done and we end up starting again. So sometime this year, we aim to have a complete body of work showcasing who we are and what we do that will encompass the raw energy of our sets into a complete album! 10. Do you have a message for the Infexious crew? Scotland, we’re coming for you! We’ve heard good things so we have high expectations! We can’t wait! |
